What do you do when you fall?
We all fall down at some stage in our lives. What is important that we rise up again and keep trying. This is the message told by numerous people throughout history. In this instance, Nelson Mandela (a man who fell hard but eventually rose to greatness) reminds us that there is glory in overcoming the difficult times that we face in life.
About Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela was born in South Africa in 1918. He served 27 years in prison for his efforts to overthrow the system of apartheid (a system of racial segregation in South Africa) before being released in 1990 amid escalating tension in South Africa. Mandela then worked to establish multiracial elections in South Africa and in 1994, became the first black president and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. His government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid through tackling institutionalised racism, poverty and inequality, and fostering racial reconciliation.
